Keep the first session simple
A trial is a chance for the player and family to experience the coaching environment before making a commitment. Your child does not need to arrive perfect or know every drill.
Confirm the date, time, field, and appropriate footwear before leaving home. Arriving about ten minutes early gives the player time to meet a coach and settle in.
Player checklist
- Water in a clearly marked bottle.
- Shin guards and long socks.
- Soccer cleats or athletic footwear appropriate for the confirmed session.
- Comfortable black athletic clothing when possible.
- A soccer ball if the coach asks for one or your child has one available.
- Any required medication kept and managed by the parent according to the family's normal plan.
What parents should watch during the trial
- Does the coach explain activities clearly?
- Does your child receive a useful correction or encouragement?
- Is the group challenging without feeling chaotic?
- Does your child have repeated chances to participate?
- Do staff explain the next step without pressure?
After the session
Ask your child what they enjoyed, what felt difficult, and whether the coach's instructions made sense. Then speak with the coach about the most appropriate group and any questions about schedule or cost.
At Inter Broward CF, academy training is $140 per month. The one-time $90 registration includes two practice jerseys. New players may attend up to two free trial sessions before placement and enrollment.
